By the way...there is free registration going on now, at the blood bank/ Red Cross/ bloodmobile thru Sat the 10th. That means that the marrow donation fee of $60.00m is being waved until Sat the 10th, which is also Sandra & myself's 11th wedding anniversary.

Hello my Friends,

You may or may not have gotten news regarding my recent health issues.....
On March 15th, I was diagnosed with an aggressive case of Leukemia (Acute Myeloid Leukemia,AML). I must tell you it was as much a shock to hear, as it is to read this.

I've undergone the first phase of treatment (usually 4-5) and am in a Neutropenic stage where I have no anti-bodies to ward off the slightest cut, cold or infection.
Chemo lasted a period of 10 days and then we found malignant cells in my spinal cord. We treated that with spinal taps & induction.
Alot has happened and I still have a long road to travel, as all of us do.
Know that my spirit will not be broken, that my whole life has been one beautiful blessing & that with your thoughts and prayers....I'll have that extra edge. I do ask that you keep Sandra & Ruby in your thoughts and prayers, because I feel that they, the innocent ones, are suffering the hardships, the pain and the anxiety that they do not deserve.
My attitude is the best....I will beat this! I want to watch Ruby grow up, I want to grow old next to Sandra & I still have a few songs left in me to write.
I plan to send one update a week (depending on my energy level).

Know that I feel your positive thoughts and prayers and that I will do everything humanly possible to beat this ugly disease.

Warm thoughts to you all,

Chris

Hello All,

Below, is a link to the bone marrow info web site.
I have another Intrathecal (spinal tap w/ chemo) today & I'm hearing that I may be released within 3 days,I don't know yet. I haven't had a chance to confirm w/ my Oncologist.
I will be staying with Sandra & Ruby for 2-4 weeks, then back in the hospital. From there, we hope to find a marrow donor and then I'm off to Seattle for X amount of weeks/months to see how the marrow will take.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and please keep Sandra & Ruby in your thoughts, I see the sorrow in both their hearts....yet both of my girls are the 2 strongest people I've ever met.
I may be off-line for a week, but I will always have this e mail address active. As soon as I possibly can, I will be back in touch.
Some of you may receive this twice, if so, I'll do my best to remove any addresses that I've doubled up.
http://www.marrow.org/
Bless you for your thoughts and prayers.

Subject: Bone Marrow

Hello All,

I didn't spend enough time checking out marrow.org and a friend told me that they want $$'s to join. That's not my intention....I'm hoping to find out that there is a nation/world wide organization that doesn't charge.
Also, it's matched by DNA...not blood type. I will set up a file, specific to my name and DNA match & that seems to be the process.

Much Love,

Chris
