The Jelly Rollers "From the Roots to The Stratosphere" Band Name: The Jelly Rollers Description: Roots-Style Blues Categories: Blues, Roots, Americana Markets: Seattle, Spokane, Portland, Boise, Sun Valley Available for: Private, Corporate, Military, Festivals, Resorts, Weddings [Audio Samples] The Jelly Rollers combine compelling rhythms with melt-in-your-mouth guitar licks, tasty harmonica, and rousing harmonies to create their own fresh brand of infectious, hip-shakin' blues. Best known of late for packing the dance floors around the Northwest, the group originally formed as an acoustic duo in the early 90s with Darren Loucas on guitar and Sean Divine on harp singing and playing in the tradition of Terry & McGhee and Cephas & Wiggins. The pair has successfully channeled this mutual interest in vintage blues (which they have shared since meeting in S. Florida in 1985) into a Highly danceable electric ensemble powered by the driving rhythm section of Jim Steffen and Dan Weber. The Jelly Rollers' new self-titled release has received substantial airplay in the Northwest airing on both the KPLU and KBCS blues shows and earning the coveted status of "regular rotation" at KEXP. |
